I make things that have to teach someone something, whether it's animations, campaign identities, or instructional concepts. Fourteen years in design, the last seven of them in medical devices.

Brand Fluency
I don't treat brand guidelines as fences. I treat them as grammar. Being contained to a brand language doesn't limit creativity.

About Me
About Me
Yong Hwang
I’ve spent most of my career as the final creative in the room, which is either a great way to build range or a great way to learn to argue. Both, it turns out.
I kicked off my career by building and running design teams in the apparel startup industry, including one I grew from a single designer (myself) to fourteen. Then, I traded the headcount for craft, for a healthcare industry where the constraints are real: everything I make goes through regulatory review, and it still has to be be dynamic.
The constant in my career is learning. Taking something dense and technical and finding the version that lands the first time.
